ROADMATES AT TRAX 2005
On the 4th September Roadmates appeared at the prestigious Trax 2005 event held at the world famous Silverstone Grand Prix race circuit. The crowd numbered in the tens of thousands and with the temperatures in the 80's (no mamby pamby metric measurements here at Roadmates) the show was hot hot hot! Massive sterios, skantily clad girls and extreme custom cars ruled the day.
Roadmates are proud to have shared a stand with two well known tuning companies - POWER ENGINEERING of middlesex and KALMAR-UNION. Power Engineering have been established for many years and have made their name tuning Ford products. Kalmar-Union was the first company to offer in the UK Volvo tuning parts to this end their range is extensive and competetive. Our thanks to all for making us welcome.
To further promote the Roadmates brand the logos will appear on the Kalmar racing cars for the forseeable future. Look out for us in the 'Britcar' and Toyo production saloon car championships. Give us a wave and a cheer and feel free to come and talk to us in the pits.
Over 1000 new potential members were targeted and to date the response has been fantastic.
Car stickers, window logos and other merchandise will be available shortly, we expect there to be a small charge to cover costs etc but we will keep this to a minimum.

New Vehicle Language
So common has fast lane flirting now become that a new language of love is developing on the nation’s roads. Called the Vehicle Body Language (VBL) of Love, it consists of a precisely choreographed sequence of unspoken chat-up lines that enable flirtatious drivers to get to know members of the opposite sex who are stuck in cars beside them.
Of the many VBL’s identified by the survey, the top silent signals of attraction were:
A long lingering look (79% of men and 66% of women)
One in five of men said they sat up straighter so as to look taller
One in 10 puffed out their chest and pulled in their stomach to look fitter – despite being difficult to see in a car!
Four out of 10 women checked their appearance in the mirror
A third of women tidied their hair or adjusted their make-up
One out of five men tried to edge their car a little closer to the object of their affection
One in 10 scribbled their mobile number on their palms and held them up to the other driver
One in 20 noted down the number of the other person’s car
One in 10 would drive the same stretch of road again in the hope of getting a second meeting
